Our values

We make products that make you feel good in every sense. We are committed to the highest sourcing standards as outlined below.

Our silky Suri Alpaca fur is so durable it can last a lifetime. Baboosha carefully selects only the most luxurious Suri Alpaca fur and other premium materials to create unique slippers.

Fur length and light color differences are to be considered characteristics of the quality of materials.

Design & Craftsmanship

All our slippers are handmade one at a time so they each have their own unique character. Our Paris-based fashion designer works closely with local artisans in Peru.

We’ve created modern designs but maintain the traditional craftsmanship methods passed down through generations of artisan families.

Animal Welfare

Strict cruelty-free Alpaca fur sourcing policy. We use only the highest quality and finest cruelty-free Alpaca fur available only in the highest altitudes of the Andes Mountain region.

We work closely with our local partners to ensure the highest standards in responsible sourcing of leather, fur, and other materials.

Fair Trade

We pay our local partner artisans fair wages.

This improves the lifestyle of many families and grows the local economy in the Andes region.

Ethical Alpaca Fur

We love how fur makes us feel but we don’t want to hurt animals. We are lovers of soft, real fur, and conscious of animal welfare. This is why Baboosha slippers exist.

Alpaca fur is one of the finest and softest in the world.

We source our Alpaca from rural family-owned businesses in the Andean region of Peru that depend on the Alpaca for their survival and wellbeing.

We do this in an ethically and eco-friendly manner.

It is not practical or ethical to kill Alpacas for their hides, because there is so much economic benefit by shearing them for their wool. Furthermore, there's a prohibition in effect against killing Alpacas for their hides.

Sometimes young animals die naturally due to sickness, extreme weather changes, genetics, or an accident. This is a costly loss to the families. They minimize their loss by using the Alpaca for food and its pelt.

We only use the hides of Alpacas that have died of natural causes to make our slippers.

Our Alpaca fur is sourced 100% cruelty-free and we have a strong fair trade and sustainability platform. We do not hurt Alpacas.
